About Me
I was born and raised in a bilingual, bicultural family, and though I have always lived in France, I grew up regularly visiting family and friends in the USA and have spent most of my professional life working in English with bilingual teams.
Personal Philosophy
I thrive on creation. Throughout my life, I have always been in love
with the process of turning curiosity and the need for understanding
into a passion for building, designing, and tinkering.
This is what
has guided me through my various endeavors and is the primary driving
force behind all of my projects, both work-related and personal.
I have always considered myself to be very curious and happy to learn and explore new ideas with others.
Open Source
I am an open source and free software convert; I strongly believe in the importance of a free and open internet. Numerous projects I've created over the years are available on my GitHub page, and I have occasionally contributed to other, larger projects when possible.
I aim to continue contributing to the broader ecosystem for the foreseeable future.
I'm an Explorer and a Fixer
Throughout my years of working with others; I have found that one of my biggest strengths is my proclivity for rapid analysis and problem solving. Though deep methodical analysis is not my forte, I am very good at finding the most probable cause of an issue or quickly building various alternative plans to reach an objective.
This has been extremely valuable in numerous situations, including project planning, code debugging, team behavioral analysis when coaching, graphic design prototyping, and quickly bringing together proofs of concept.
My Views on AI
At the time of writing this (June 2026), I am of two minds about "AI".
On the one hand, I am a generally a technophile and have been testing the limits and value of LLMs tools as they became widely available. I cannot deny their value as a developer, especially for more basic or repetitive tasks (boilerplate code, function documentation, etc.), and even their effectiveness at debugging code that may be unfamiliar, or when I have forgotten the intricacies of some codebase since the time of writing.
On the other hand, I believe that the cost of large scale LLMs is currently too great to justify their widespread adoption. The ecological and ethical concerns alone are enough to give me pause, and I am slowly dialing back my LLM usage as a result.
If I had to draw a line, I would say that, until there is a real system in place for remunerating artists, AI should not be used for direct creative work; we should also be more mindful of how much we rely on LLMs for simple tasks. Having said that, they clearly are of value for specific tasks such as acting as a coding assistant.
Hobbies & Interests
I am an avid gamer, with a penchant for immersive single player indie titles, CRPGs, and Souls-likes. However, I also strive to step out of my comfort zone on a regular basis to explore all types of games, from obscure niche experimental titles to competitive shooters and AAA "everything" games.
I am well known among friends for my cooking. I try to cook every meal fresh, using seasonal ingredients whenever possible, and am quite proud of the wide variety of cooking styles and cuisines I can handle.
I have long enjoyed tabletop gaming, and the occasional board game; I have also been working a pen & paper role playing game system on and off for the past few years. Currently, it lives in an Obsidian vault, with a fully functional game system and most of an introductory campaign. I built this for the benefit of my friends, but it may one day grow into something more.
I am also an avid fiction reader; especially of science fiction and fantasy of all types.
Since I am lucky enough to live in France, where cinema remains a massive cultural institution, I have grown a deep appreciation for films of all types. I feel especially fortunate to have seen many independent, foreign, and experimental films on the silver screen.
Other interests include skateboarding, hiking, cycling, going to museums and concerts, and listening to music.
